As a foster and adoptive parent herself, Tara understands the challenges families face in the foster care system and is motivated to ensure they have access to vital resources, support, and community connections.
A registered nurse and educator, Tara’s professional background spans healthcare and academic leadership. She holds a master’s degree in nursing management and is pursuing a PhD.
Beyond The Village, Tara has long been active in the local community. In 2012, she coordinated grassroots disaster relief during Hurricane Sandy, transforming her home into a donation center to connect families with essential supplies. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, volunteers with her church, serves as a youth soccer treasurer, and has helped raise funds through school PTO events.
She enjoys reading, seaglassing, and time at the beach, but most of all, values being with her family and their dogs. A proud mother of four, she warmly includes her son’s girlfriend as part of the family. Tara credits her husband, children and parents as constant sources of strength, supporting her dedication to The Village and the families it serves.

Kait first became involved with The Village out of a strong belief that every child, no matter their individual circumstances, deserves to feel loved and supported. She remains inspired by the dedication of local resource families and strives to ensure they feel supported and know that the community stands with them.
As a Registered Dietitian, Kait specializes in working with clients facing eating disorders, bringing a deep understanding of care, resilience, and individualized support to her work. She earned her BS in Dietetics and continues to contribute to her profession as a member of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians.
Kait also strengthens The Village’s mission through her role as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where she advocates for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. She collaborates with child welfare professionals, educators, and service providers to ensure judges have the information needed to make well-informed decisions for each child. In addition, Kait serves as PTO secretary and enrichment coordinator for her children’s school.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Kait enjoys pickleball and family life, including cheering on her two daughters as a proud soccer mom. She is grateful for the support of her husband and children, who volunteer alongside her at The Village whenever possible.

She first became involved with The Village because she was inspired by the chance to apply her skills while helping advance a mission she found deeply meaningful. Seeing the direct impact on foster families motivated her to step into a leadership role where she could further strengthen the organization.
